Friday, August 2
All festivities at Copley High School.
Food trucks available beginning at 6:00.
6:00-7:30 - Charity Football Game between Police and Fire personnel and the Copley High School Football team. Bring a school supply or backpack as your entrance fee to the game and cheer on your favorite player or Safety Officer. All donations to benefit local area children
7:30 – 9:00 – Akron Symphonic Winds Concert – sponsored by Concordia Senior Living Facility. Listen to some beautiful music while enjoying a picnic at the High School Band Practice Field (east end of the High School near the softball field) featuring the winning piece composed especially to commemorate Copley’s Bicentennial!
At dark – kick off the party for Copley Township’s 200th birthday with a fireworks display. The fireworks will be released on the property directly east of the High School across Cleveland Massillon Road next to the A. Schulman Building.
Saturday, August 3
8:00-11:00 – Pancake Breakfast sponsored by the Copley Fire Department and located at Fire Station Number 1 at Copley Town Hall, 1540 S. Cleveland-Massillon Road.
12:00-8:00 – Copley Community Park Family Fun Celebration featuring food, craft, business and non-profit vendors! Free activities include: •Inflatables •Rock climbing wall •Laser tag •Pedal Tractor Pull for ages 4-11 (afternoon registration; actual pull after the parade) •Teen area at the pavilions – bring your skateboard!
The festivities also include: •Beer Garden featuring Akronym Brewery •Baby Changing/Nursing tent •All day DJ •Raffle to benefit Veteran’s Group •Bake Off Contest (contact Lisa at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information) •Music by Charm the Guard following the parade till closing
5:00 – Copley Bicentennial Parade – New Time and New Route!
The parade steps off at 5:00 from the Copley Police Department on Sunset Drive and travels east directly down Copley Road to Copley Community Park; entries will be announced at Copley Circle. For more information or to register your parade entry, contact email@example.com.
