I used graphite pencil and a large white piece of paper for this piece. “Freshman”, reflects the
transition to the new community of high school as well as the evolving maturity of adolescence
and greater responsibility. The drawing captures the cautious excitement that comes with joining
a new community and taking on greater responsibility and having greater autonomy.
