Creating art is the most profound part of my identity and source of confidence. I am an 18-year-old artist based in Copley, and I specialize in stippling; the process of creating an image using thousands of small dots. While the tedious task of creating a piece of art using nothing but dots seems daunting to most, stippling is my love, passion and true source of therapy. Throughout my high school career I struggled greatly with anxiety. I developed a severe tremor in my hands, making it very difficult for me to create art with the precision I was used to. Although this was heartbreaking for me initially, my sophomore year I was introduced to stippling and everything changed for me. Despite my shaky hands, I was able to create intricate, detailed pieces that were unique and gave me a sense of pride. Leaning into art has truly saved my life and given me purpose. My goal is to create a career out of my passion, and produce new and exciting art that makes people think.
